  5. "Edit in Word" no longer appears on the Tools menuAtlassian has removed this feature from Confluence as of Confluence 4.0.  Documents attached to wiki pages can still be edited as before. More details are available in the Confluence 4 Editor FAQ on Atlassian's Site.
  6. Table-Plus macro doesn't seem to work. - This macro has changed to a commercial offering. The primary purpose of the macro was to allow authors to create a table that could be sorted by columns. This is now part of standard tables in confluence, so we made the decision not to purchase tables-plus. To ensure a smooth upgrade of your space, we will remove instances of the tables-plus macro. If we encounter permission issues or if you are using any functionality beyond table sorting, we will work with you to try to identify an alternative.

Workarounds / Solutions

Calendaring

1/14/2013 Update: Calendaring is temporarily disabled as we work through an issue with the Calendar Plugin with our Vendor

Upgrading to the New Calendar Macro

With the upgrade to Confluence 4.3 we've also upgraded the Calendar Macro to Confluence Team Calendars.  The following steps must be followed to migrate existing calendars to the new version. Documentation for Team Calendars is available on the Atlassian Site.

Step 1 (Before 12/2): Export your existing calendars

This step must be done before the upgrade. If you were unable to export your calendar before then, no worries. We've stored an archived copy of the wiki for this purpose and a wiki administrator will be happy to assist you. Just send an email to CommonWikiAdmins@massmail.state.ma.us and include the page on which your calendar(s) appeared.

Step 2 (After 12/2): Import your Calendar export into the upgraded wiki
  1. Re-import your old calendar data from your exported .ics files:
    1. From your dashboard, click on *'My Calendars' *or use direct this link (https://wiki.state.ma.us/calendar/mycalendar.action).
    2. Click on 'Add Calendar' and choose 'Import Calendar' from the drop down list:

      Calendars are Public!

Team Calendars are public by default. If you wish to limit who can see your calendar, you can set user or group restrictions. Just click the drop-down menu to the right of the calendar you wish to restrict on your My Calendars page and choose "Restrictions".

Editing Wiki Pages

Where's the "Edit in Word" option?

Edit in Word, which used to appear on the Tools menu, has been removed from Confluence as of version 4.0 and replaced by a more stable rich text editor. More details are available in the Confluence 4 Editor FAQ on Atlassian's Site.

  1. What happened to wiki markup (wiki editor)? Is there a replacement or an html editor as an option to the default editor. For example, Dreamweaver uses a design and a code view to allow you to use either or both simultaneously to write pages.

    1. Found the answer: "Note: You cannot edit content in wiki markup. Confluence does not store page content in wiki markup. Although you can enter wiki markup into the editor, Confluence will convert it to the rich text editor format immediately. You will not be able to edit the wiki markup after initial entry." Confluence user guide

That's a shame, because that was often the easiest way to repair a broken table, for instance.

  2. I noticed that as part of the upgrade, we no longer have the ability to post images as thumb nails that can be made larger when clicked...a useful feature. Is this intentional?

    1. Hi, Glenn showed me how the way to create a thumbnail image has changed ... so it's actually still possible to do this (thanks Glenn!)

  3. I have been facing couple issues with panels:

    • Trying to increase the font size of my panel heading, but it does not allow me to change the font size.Any suggestions?
    •  When I add a panel, it adds an additional box below. How to I get rid of it?
